Frequently Asked Questions
- What kind of Income Tax returns do you prepare?
We prepare individual, corporate, and estate (1041) income tax returns. We prepare returns as a ‘package’ and do not prepare ‘partial’ returns or review what another person or software package has prepared. We do ‘amend’ returns that others have prepared but this can be more expensive than if we originally prepare the return because we have to enter the return as it was originally prepared (to ‘zero it out’) and then enter the return the ‘amended’ way. Call (614) 523-3193 for details.
- How much does it cost for you to do my Income Taxes?
We have “package” pricing. This means that we charge one price for Federal, State, and City income tax returns, include electronic filing, and have refunds electronically deposited to your checking/saving account. Additional fees are added for additional complexity. For example, home-based businesses, rental income, multiple states/cities, etc. For no additional charge we analyze if filing ‘married-filing-seperately’ will benefit you. We also give you tax advice for future savings.
- How does the process work for you to do my Income Taxes?
Call our office and explain what your needs are. If we can assist you we will set you up with an appointment. We will fax or mail you an “Income Tax Data-Itemizer” form which is a checklist of things to bring to your tax appointment. For your protection bring the social security cards of everyone who will be on your tax return. We will enter your information into the computer at your appointment and identify any missing information. Upon receipt of missing information we generate an IRS e-file Signature Authorization form (8879) for you to sign and we electronically file your return. We will mail you copies of your tax return with a detailed instruction page and vouchers for any taxes due.
